Maximum €40 rent each week nationwide. But they want €150.00 up front before it opens. Sounds like they want drivers to be the inverters but without any shares. Anyone know about the company.

Re: Taxi Co-operative

If you were to opperate a co-op , you know how difficult it is to find 20 drivers without the one that will rob his customers blind. regrettably there in abundance in this industry, it only takes the one to give us all the reputation.

that,s no reason not to do it. Is there no co-op already in Dublin. I would be surprised if their is not. There are lots around the country. But some of the drivers think being an owner gives them the right to get back door work from the opperators, other steal the decent jobs a cut rate prices from the co-op to there mobiles. I could understand co-op outside Dublin but in dublin rents are reasonable . outside Dublin rents are around €100 to €150 a week.

bet same as here. flower sellers, the guy in the car drops off the flower seller and goes of doing taxi work. The dogs on the street know it, some Garda crime prevention.

Re: 'I'm Irish' stickers further stoke taxi tensions

September 20, 2008 by cruiz-control

Just one point here, for years Irish companies have been labeling products."BUY IRISH" or "BUY LOCAL KEEPS JOBS LOCAL" Is that not discrimination against our European partners. Maybe racist towards the french of British? No broblem personally with anyone's skin color, but why is it almost all non-Irish are renting licenses, maybe because they don't want to give up social welfare, well that is a powder kep waiting to explode.

Enda Kenny wants to expel everything but the Irish and the papers miss the story and wet their pants about a sticker. wow!

Re: why is it when asking genuine questions about migrant workers are your branded a racist?

Foe example
* why are foreign drivers renting plates instead of buying them. It costs
between €7,200 and €10,000 a year to rent and to buy €6,350 once of payment.
Is it because there not paying tax and are on the Dole, just a question

* Why are African drivers having taxi meeting once a month at the crystal
sport center in the south east and excluding white drivers. Is that not
racist

* Why are drivers who are supposed to have done a driving test clearly not able
to drive.

* Why are drivers who have done a knowledge test unable even to find landmark
streets and buildings.

* Why are drivers from outside Europe not required to have security clearance
from their own countries, and only required to have Garda vetting when there
probably only resident a few years.

* If a drivers history is not available to the Garda, whys should he get a
License?
