A few weeks ago at a student village in Waterford I was travelling with two customers trough the one way system in the student compound, this was 2am. The customers asked me to stop as I did, then a car came up behind me started blowing the horn. I egnored it, next thing a back seat passanger in the car ran up to my window and slaped me in the face. He was a student, not so big. I probably could have flattened him. but I called the Garda. They arrived and seemed to be totally disinterested in what happened, almost as if I was waisting there time. The student was appoligising saying it was a bit of fun and the Garda seemed to think it was not worth there visit. I demanded he be prosecuted, but I will await a letter saying he was cautioned and wont be prosecuted like the other two times in my 15 years in a taxi. Garda should above all people know the importance of sending out a message that this behavour is not acceptable.

I ALSO WAS ASSULTED THREE WEEKS AGO.THAT I NEEDED TO VISIT A HOSPITAL FOR CUTS AND DAMAGE TO MY EYE I WAS OUT OF WORK FOUR DAYS. THE GARDA HAVE NOT BEEN IN CONTACT AND EVERY TIME I TRY TO CONTACT THE GARDA SHE IS ON LEAVE.WHEN THE GARDA ARRIVED AT THE SCENE THEY WERE ONLY INTERESTED IN THE FARE WHICH THE GUY DID NOT HAVE THEY EVEN OFFERED TO TAKE HIM TO HIS HOME TO GET IT. WHICH HE REFUSED AND WAS ARRESTED FOR A PUBLIC ORDER ACT.HE SINCE BEEN IN ANOTHER TAXI AND TOLD THE DRIVER HE HAS FRIENDS IN THE GARDA AND NOTHING MORE WILL BE DONE ABOUT IT.ANYONE GOT ANY SUGESTIONS AS TO HOW I SHOULD PROCEED WITH THIS.PLEASE DONT ASK ME TO COMPLAIN THE GARDA. WE ALL KNOW THE CORROPTION AND I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DRIVE IN WATERFORD AGAIN.

just to give you all a update I have been to the waterford garda station 5 times
every time I go the garda is out on the beat/busy with the phones/unavailable. to day i was waiting a hour only to be told she is too busy and will be in contact with me.we shall wait and see. I will keep you posted.

another up date. finally got to make a statement after complaining to a Sargent about two weeks after i was assaulted its now 5 months and i not heard a word since.

RING AND ASK FOR A MEETING WITH THE SUPER , TELL HIM YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE WAY THE CASE IS BEEN HANDLED AND REMIND HIM OR HER THAT TAXIDRIVERS ARE THE FIRST PEOPLE GARDA COME LOOKING FOR WHEN THERE IS SERIOUS CRIMES LATE AT NIGHT ,
