Taxi licence for Austrailans

Payment details and information about how to obtain a taxi licence in the Australian Capital Territory.

People wishing to obtain a taxi driver licence in the ACT are required to:

* be at least 20 years of age and;
* have held either an ACT or Australian provisional or full driver licence (not Learner, Probationary or Restricted) for a minimum of three years.

Applicants must also:

* provide a Police Character Check;
* be certified by Health Services Australia (HSA) as medically fit to drive
a public vehicle;
* complete a Taxi Driver Training Course with Aerial Transport; and
* successfully complete the Public Vehicle Practical Driving Test with TISC.

For HSA medical examinations you must make an appointment by phoning (02) 6269 2001. A consultation fee will apply. The HSA office is located on the first floor of Health Services Australia House, 15 Bowes Street, Woden ACT.

Aerial Transport can be contacted on (02) 6126 1506.

Once your Police Character Check has been approved your will receive a letter advising you can now attend any ACT Government Shopfront or the Civic Driver Licence Service with:

* Proof of Identity and Residency
* a completed medical form;
* a licence upgrade form;
* the Aerial Transport Taxi Driver Training Course certificate; and
* the passed Public Vehicle Practical Driving Test.

Note

There is no additional fee for adding a ‘T’ licence condition to an ACT licence.

The MAXIMUM permitted blood alcohol concentration for a Taxi Driver is below 0.02.

makes sense in come countries you cant go on a motorway even after you pass your test. 3 years licence before getting psv.

too late boys! damage already done. we should all be going in to claim FIS now family income support, can drivers get it? anbody know
